One thing that overland travelers often do is name their vehicles. Overland travel is arduous and character-building for the individual, but challenging and bonding for the participants and their relationships as well. Those participants include the vehicles. Jan and Trevor Rutters are driving from England to South Africa in Sully, a 3.5-ton Land Rover.
As yet, Jason's and my motorcycles don't have names. The idea has even been floated that our string of stressful situations could be attributed to the namelessness of our bikes. So, what to do? We're looking for name suggestions, so feel free to post a comment with any ideas you have. You might just save us from another stressful border crossing!
Oops, forgot to write captions for the photos. Here are a few of us and the bikes to help with the naming efforts. More later.
Parting shot...

'Bumblebee' might not be an acceptable name, but there were definitely multiple votes for 'Ducky' back in München |

My name is Mark. I was born near Chicago, have lived in the US, Germany and Nepal, and am starting a new job and a new adventure in Ethiopia. This site is a way for me to keep friends and family updated on my progress, share some pictures, and perhaps offer a bit of reflection along the way. Please look around, and enjoy the ride! Herumwandernder Cavetroll... heisse Mark.
