First of all, the captions are up in my previous three posts. Hopefully they help explain the pictures just a bit.
Second, I've alluded to another trip I'm planning. My motorcycle has been sitting in Munich for the last two years, and I've been itching to ride it for a long time. I looked into shipping it to Ethiopia, but it never seemed to make sense, particularly because of Ethiopia import laws. Well, last January I met a guy named Jason while running with the Hash. He's from Australia, moved to Addis last December, and was planning on importing a motorcycle to Ethiopia. Long story short, we decided to ride motorcycles here. For a few reasons, I'm not bringing my BMW bike down, but we're both buying Honda Africa Twins for the trip. I'm celebrating my 30th birthday outside of Munich next month (let me know if you'll be in the area and haven't heard about it!), and Jason and I will leave directly afterwards for a three-week trip through Austria, Italy, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Sudan. Planning for the trip has been quite the lesson in patience... from embassies to ferry companies, travel agents to government revenue offices, information hasn't exactly been forthcoming. We're in pretty good shape now though, and are really excited about the trip. We'll post as often as possible while on the road, but you read the places where we'll be... :-)
I don't want to overload you with photos and captions, so no photos this time (go back and look at the last three entries). Next time though, look for photos from two trips to Ziway and a warm-up motorcycle tour. :)
